At the bank of Sumida-gawa river, young people were playing skatebording tonight.
I was excited to see how it was going on.
After drinking with my colleague at the school, I was loitering around Asakusa.(where I was born.) Recently, I sometimes go there to feel good old atmosphere. (though I drunk with him there)
Especially since big typhoon has already gone, tokyo has been quite comfortable climate which was different from last week. I didn't want to go back home soonly. So, I walked towartds the river.
It was my first time to watch that sight which young guys were gathering at the bank playing skatebording. About thirty people was there watching and playing the bords. What they did was a kind of game how high they could jump over the pole putting on a two standing rod just like pole-vaulter.
They are competing each other who would be the winner. It seemed that they has a rule that each one could miss for two times, and when he fall the pole twice he will lose the game.
I was impressed to watch that game not just because the last person jumped over the pole really high. Firstly, I could rarely watch statebording in Tokyo especially Shitamachi-area(lower town). In addition, almost all of them have a kind of Amrican Style who put on a long-shirts, and tatoos. (with beer and tabacco,of course) And if a man success with his trun, others were clapping their hands to admire his success. There were no foreigner but I felt American culture brought into Asakusa.
Having a lot of energy, playing skatebording without thinking any trouble with neiborhoods were a kind of different style but those pleasures may be important for our closed culture, especially after big disaster. Now, people would be hard to find something interesting in one's life.
Lastly, that style reminds me of the European one I love.
